We’re so excited to introduce our newest design team member, Mindy Backes from Bada-Bing! Paper-Crafting! blog.  Please stop by her blog to see more of her projects.  We’re so glad to have her creating with us.  WELCOME MIndy! 
“I was so honored when Shannon asked me to join the HSS team!  I was like, "who me???".  I'm so honored to be part of this wonderfully creative team and hope I don't disappoint!  I've been crafty as long as I can remember and always had a ton of coloring books and crayons and markers and paper.  I got my first stamp set circa 1989...it was a Lisa Frank (remember all that stuff?) foam stamp set with bright NEON stamp pads.  I was hooked!  I started scrapping in college and grad school and found my way to cardmaking.  At my first "real" job I met a SU demo who invited me to a Christmas card party in 2005 and I was blown away and have never looked back!  I signed up as a demo in 2009 with the support of my fiance and now wonderful hubby.   Papercrafting has been a huge blessing in my life!  It's been a great hobby and creative outlet for me and I have made some of the best friends through stamping and SU!  As for my non-stamping life, I'm a full time (and then some) athletic trainer and part time aerobics instructor where Turbokick is my torture of choice.  It's fun to rock out to some jammin' tunes after sitting at the craft desk for hours on end!  I'm an only child which I find pretty unique since I don't know many people who are.  My husband Jon and I just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary in June after dating in high school and then taking a 10 year or so break!  I also have a wonderful 6 pound toy fox terrier who will turn 6 this month!  She likes to keep me company in my craft room while I stamp!  I look forward to the challenges here and to being pushed to think outside the box!”

HSS All Stitched Up! Theme Challenge #80

We would be so glad if you could join us in getting stitched up!  Yup, you heard it right we’re in stitches over here at HSS.  Stitched up as in create any project with real or faux stitching.  You can create stitches with a sewing machine, needle and thread, or faux stitching with a marker.  Show us how you stitch up!

HSS Back to School Theme Challenge #79

It's hard to believe that it's already time to get ready for back to school. Where did the summer go?! There are so many great projects you can create for BTS so get into the school mode and be inspired. Your homework this week is to create any paper craft project - card, scrap book page or 3D items to celebrate going back to class. We are excited to see how you make the grade!

We’re sad to say goodbye to one of our design team members, Minnie Cieslak.  She recently started a new job and has been busy thriving in her new position so she’s not had time for stamping.  Hopefully soon she’ll find a balance and will be able to get back to paper crafting. We wish her the best!

HSS Fancy Fold Theme Challenge #78, Guest Designer and New Design Team Member

We have lots going on this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  First, for this week’s challenge we thought we’d get fancy.  Fancy as in fancy fold cards.  With so many types of fancy fold cards – Spiral Pop-Up, Spring, Side Step, Tri-Fold, Easel, Gate Fold, Joy Fold, Center Step, Free Standing Pop-Up, Diorama, etc. we know there’s one that will tickle your fancy.  So show us your favorite fancy fold card.

And now for our really exciting news... introducing the newest member to the Hand Stamped Sentiments design team, Erica Cerwin of San Antonio, Texas. 

“I was so thrilled to meet Erin and Shannon at convention recently and honored to be asked to join their great team!  I have been a SU Demonstrator for two years, but a paper artist for 15+. I've been making scrapbooks and other paper art since I was a teenager! I am married and have three little girls who give me lots of reasons to make cute scrapbooks and projects. They love to sit in my office with me and play with my punches and stamps while I stamp and scrap. I also have a "day job" that helps support my paper addiction! From August to May I spend my days in the classroom teaching 1st grade. I can't wait to be a part of this fantastic challenge team and look forward to seeing what you create as well!”

HSS Good Day Sunshine Theme Challenge #75 & Guest Designer

Good Day Sunshine!  This week’s challenge is to feature the sun on your paper craft projects.  Let ‘s see the sunny side of your projects with this fun challenge!

We also have a guest designer for you this week.  Her name is Billie Anderson and she lives in the country with her two little dogs.  She’s been crafting since the early 90’s and loves coloring images with pencils and Copics.  Her favorite embellishments are flowers, bling and embossing folders.  She’s at the moment trying to focus on ribbon and buttons but always seems to reach for her favs.  Billie loves making cards and we’re excited to have her as our guest designer.  Take a look at her sunny project and visit her blog for more inspiration.
